FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: using detection device, each sensor of which has a width in the first direction in the range of 20% of the reference distance to 10 mm, the analysis of the signals from the sensors comprises the steps of performing a mapping operation in which the signal information representing the signal from the sensor is associated, for each such signal, with spatial information, representing the location of the occurrence of said signal to generate position-dependent signal data; a matrix forming operation in which the position-dependent signal data or the signal data derived therefrom is stored in the fields of the base matrix, and at least one estimation operation in which position-dependent signal data from at least two fields of the basic matrix adjacent to each other in the evaluation direction are coupled to each other using at least one estimation algorithm.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy and reliability of monitoring detection of various types of defects.
