FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: ultrasonic flaw detection device has an inclined probe, a normal probe and a switching circuit which enables to switching connection of the inclined probe and the normal probe with the transmission unit and reception unit of the flaw detector, wherein the switching circuit can select an inclined flaw detection mode for transmitting and receiving an ultrasound beam with the inclined probe only, a SPOD mode for transmitting an ultrasound beam with the inclined probe and receiving the diffracted wave propagating on the flaw detection surface over the defect using the normal probe, a mode for simultaneously carrying out the inclined flaw detection method and the SPOD method for transmitting an ultrasound beam with the inclined probe and receiving the reflected wave with the inclined probe, as well as receiving the diffracted wave propagating on the flaw detection surface over the defect using the normal probe, and a normal flaw detection mode for transmitting and receiving an ultrasound beam with the normal probe only.

EFFECT: possibility of selecting an optimum ultrasonic flaw detection method.
