METHOD OF DIACRISIS THE ADVANCE OF THE "GLYSTENING" EFFECT IN THE SUBSTANCE OF INTRAOCULAR LENS IN VIVO Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61B8/10 A61B3/00 A61B3/135

Abstract RU 2644301 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, specifically to ophthalmology. To detect progression of the "glistening" effect in the substance of the intraocular lens in vivo, the effect of "glistening" is defined during biomicroscopy, followed by counting the number of microcavities. After achievement of corectasia, the OCT of the "IOL-capsular bag" complex is performed on the Optovue XR device (USA) in 3D Cornea regime. Then, 10 scans are selected and kept, in which the optical section is made horizontally in the pupil zone. In each of the scans of optical part of the IOL in program ImageJ, a rectangular zone of 2.0 × 1.0 mm, while the 1.0 mm side is parallel to the optical axis of the IOL. Next, in the same program, in each chosen rectangular zone the number of microcavities is determined. Then their average value is calculated. After 12 months, reinvestigation is made with the calculation of the average value in similar way. If the average number of microcavities increases by 10 % or more during reinvestigation, then advance of the "glistening" effect is detected.

EFFECT: method improves the accuracy, reliability, objectivity of the diacrisis of the advance of the "glistening" effect in IOL substance due to the quantitative analysis of OCT data.
