SUBSTANCE: solid pan coating contains many layers of sugar syrup, consisting of sucrose, glucose, fructose, galactose, dextrose or combinations thereof applied to edible core. At least one layer of sugar syrup contains a quantity of one or more sucrose esters, ranging from 0.05% by weight to 5% by weight, based on the weight of the plurality of sugar syrup layers. As a result, the colour CIELAB value ΔE of the solid pan coating is 10 or less, calculated with respect to the colour of the same colour version of the solid pan coating containing common opacifies.

EFFECT: invention allows the exclusion of titanium dioxide from the coating of a confectionery product and avoids early crystallization or atypical aging of the coating of glazed confectionery products.
