SUBSTANCE: invention is a method of early selection of cows by milk production in a breeding core, which includes selecting animals in the second milking month of the first lactation with a conditional udder size (udder circumference × to the average depth of the udder) more than 3000.0 cm2, where selecting from the group of animals in which the milk yield intensity index is higher than the average index of the group by one sigma , where is the average value of the characteristic; σ is the mean square deviation.
EFFECT: invention allows to quickly and accurately predict in the second month of lactation the future productivity of cows in the next 305 days of lactation and to form a breeding core in farms with different levels of productivity.
