FIELD: animal husbandry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of animal husbandry, in particular, to dairy cattle farming. The method for selecting cows for milking on a robotic unit includes evaluation of first-calf cows at the 2nd month of lactation based on the intensity of the milking process. The ratio of one-time milk yield to the time spent by the animals at the milking station is used as a selection criterion, selecting those with the indicator greater than the average for the herd by one sigma, wherein sigma is the mean square deviation.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of selecting cows for robotic milking technology increases based on the intensity of the milking process, increase in the efficiency of use of a milking robot.
