FIELD: animal breeding.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to animal breeding, in particular to dairy cattle breeding, and can be used in evaluation and selection of dairy cows of technological type for robotic milking, namely as a method of evaluation and selection of cows by robotic suitability index. Method involves evaluation of first-calf cows by intensity of the milking process and intensity of lactation, wherein the robotic suitability index is determined from the average value of the sum of the estimated indicators: intensity of the milking process and intensity of lactation; after evaluating each animal by the robotic suitability index, finding the arithmetic mean value and the mean square deviation of the given indicator for the group of evaluated cows, if the robotic suitability index is greater than the arithmetic mean value for the evaluated group by 1 sigma (M+1σ) are referred to animals with high robotic suitability index, less than the arithmetic mean value for the evaluated group by 1 sigma (M-1σ) – with a low robotic suitability index, with an intermediate value – an average robotic suitability index, where M is the arithmetic average value of the indicator; σ is the mean square deviation of the index; cows with a high index are selected for the breeding nucleus, with an average index for the production group, and with a low index for the culling group.

EFFECT: higher objectivity of evaluation and selection of cows by technological criteria for robotic milking and efficiency of use of robotic milking installation.
