SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the field of measurement in connection with oil and gas exploration operations. Method for determining the position of the receiver includes the following steps: receiving signals from the receiver in the subterranean formation in response to signals coming from three transmitting sources, and processing of the received signals by means of the inversion process based on signals coming from three or more transmit sources, in order to determine the position of the receiver. In this case, each of the three transmitting sources is in the known position, and the transmitting source is separated from and located at the location that is different from the location of at least one other transmitting source from the three or more transmitting sources.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improved accuracy of receiver position determination.
