FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrometallurgy, namely to electroslag remelting furnaces (ESR) for melting of metal. ESR installation includes a tower, carriage of the electrode holder with the bracket, connected by a cable through the system of blocks and a tensioning system with a counterweight and a carriage movement drive drum, is characterized by that it is provided with clamps and a load cell configured to control the perceived by the cable forces, wherein the carriage movement drive drum is located at the base of the tower, has a double-sided winding and is connected to the carriage by means of a closed cable, one end of which passes through a system of blocks located at the top of the tower, and is connected to a clamp located on the electrode holder carriage front side, and the second end of the cable is connected to a clamp located on the carriage on the opposite side of the tower, wherein the load cell is mounted on the clamp from the carriage front side.
EFFECT: invention provides a reversible force of the closed cable suspension in the direction of both downward and upward, control over the fused electrode mass during the melting process and reduces the bending moment acting on the tower.
