METHOD OF TREATING PLANE-VALGUS FEET AND LONGITUDINAL FLAT FEET IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61F5/14 A61H1/00 A61N1/18

Abstract RU 2645404 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely orthopedics, and can be used in treating flat-valgus feet and longitudinal flat feet in children. For this purpose, the functional state of the cnemis and the foot muscles is evaluated and orthopedic instep insoles are used. By means of the orthopedic instep insoles the patient's feet position is adjusted with compensation of the valgus deviation angle, each foot support points are aligned and the arches are supported. Then the patient is placed onto a moving electrical treadmill and by means of fixed on the knee joints electronic goniometers they determine a double stepping cycle with the simultaneous registration by the measuring electrodes of the electromyogram of the muscle contraction of the long flexor of the toes. Determined are those phases of the stepping cycle that correspond to the maximum signal on the electromyogram for these muscles. During these phases of the stepping cycle electromyostimulation is performed by applying electrical pulses through a pair of electrodes established in the area of projection onto the skin of the said muscles alternately on the left and the right legs. Herewith current in the pulse is 15–60 mA, the duration is from 50 to 250 mcs, the pulse repetition frequency is within the range from 50 to 85 Hz, and the duration of the procedure is from 10 to 20 minutes. Course of treatment includes 10–12 procedures 3 times a year.

EFFECT: invention provides an effective treatment of this pathology in children due to adapting the musculoskeletal apparatus of the cnemis and the foot to the movement of the child's constantly increasing sole body weight, also provides an increased muscle contractility in dynamics, as well as their endurance.
