FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to accurately determine the amount (volume, mass, level) of substances in different containers. It can also be used in demonstration physical experiments to describe the possible, including that different from the generally accepted one, character of the dependence of the resonance frequency of electromagnetic oscillations of the metal cavity of the resonator on the volume of the substance filling the cavity with different electrophysical parameters. In the proposed method of measuring the amount of a substance in a metal container, at which electromagnetic oscillations are excited in the cavity of the container and the resonance frequency of the electromagnetic oscillations of the cavity of the tank is measured, by which the measured amount of substance is judged, the walls of the container, at least some of their sections, are made compressible or expandable due to gravity, while changing the volume of the container as a function of the amount of substance in the container.
EFFECT: technical result of the present invention consists in the widening of the functionality of the measurement method, characterized by an increase in the sensitivity and, as a consequence, the accuracy of the measurements due to the increase in the range and nature of changes in the resonant frequency of the resonator depending on the measured amount of the substance in the container.
