FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of reinforcement bars from bar stock using resistance spot welding. Electrode with an outer conical surface of its shank and an internal cavity of a cylindrical shape is installed in the cavity of the holder. Refrigerant supply tube is installed with an annular gap in the cavity of the holder and the shank of the electrode. Back of the holder has windows for the circulating refrigerant. Longitudinal window is opened into the tube, and transverse window is opened into the annular gap between the tube and the surface of the holder cavity. Refrigerant supply tube, at the end of its front part, is made with an enlarged diameter equal to the diameter of the cylindrical cavity of the electrode shank. At the bottom of the cylindrical cavity of the electrode shank, an annular groove is formed, in which, said front end of the tube is located with gaps relative to the surfaces of the annular groove. In another embodiment of the invention, at the front end of the tube there is a sleeve based on the surface of the shank cavity, and an annular groove is formed at the bottom of the cylindrical cavity of the electrode shank, in which the front end of the tube with the sleeve is placed with gaps relative to the surfaces of the annular groove.

EFFECT: invention ensures increase in cooling efficiency and electrode durability.
