FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: system comprises a melting chamber 30, a discharge chamber 80, and an auxiliary chamber 50 located therebetween. A melting pressure is maintained in the melting chamber and pressure in the discharge chamber can reach atmospheric pressure. The auxiliary chamber 50 comprises zones with different pressure values which are set by pumps 60. During continuous casting, the pressure in the first zone adjacent to the melting chamber can be adjusted to a pressure that is greater than the melting pressure. The pressure in the subsequent zones can be progressively reduced and subsequently increased. The pressure in the end zone may be greater than atmospheric pressure. Differential pressures form dynamic gas plug between the melting chamber and the discharge chamber.
EFFECT: prevention of non-inert gas penetration into the melting chamber from the atmosphere and contamination of reactive materials in the melting chamber.
