SUBSTANCE: proposed in the case, where the image data of the ultra-high-definition service is transmitted without scalable encoding, it is possible to easily obtain image data corresponding to the characteristics of the proprietary display in a receiver that does not support the ultra-high-definition service. The container in a predetermined format having a video stream including encoded image data, while auxiliary information is inserted into the video stream to reduce the spatial and/or temporal resolution of the image data is transmitted. The auxiliary information indicates the accuracy limit for the motion vector included in the encoded image data, or identifies the image to be selected while decreasing the temporal resolution in a given ratio.
EFFECT: acquiring image data having a resolution corresponding to the characteristics of its own display in a receiver that does not support ultra-high definition service in the case where the ultra-high-definition service image data is transmitted without scalable encoding.
