FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used in the production of gate valves. Refractory plate of a gate valve is formed from a powder refractory material based on tabular alumina of the following composition, wt%: Al2O3 – not less than 75; ZrO2 – not less than 5; C – no more than 5; SiO2 – no more than 10; impurities, including Fe2O3, – no more than 5; then fired at 1,600–1,900 °C in an inert atmosphere. Thickness of the plate is determined from the relationship , where δ – plate thickness, mm; M – capacity of the steel ladle, kg; Dotv. – diameter of the outlet of the steel ladle, determined by the required rate of casting steel, m; σ= 100–150 MPa – the value of the compressive strength of the plate material in the temperature range 400–1,600 °C.
EFFECT: higher resistance of refractory plates, which reduces consumption thereof during when pouring metal.
