SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy and can be used when casting steel from a casting ladle. Disclosed is a plate for a shutter of an outlet of a steel teeming ladle in the form of an oval, a rectangle or rhombus with rounded corners, having a round hole, displaced relative to centre of plate along its greater axis, made of refractory material based on tabular alumina, containing, wt%: Al2O3 not less than 95, MgO not less than 2, CaO 2.5–3, by vibration casting and subsequent heat treatment at temperature 500–550 °C.

EFFECT: invention improves operational characteristics and reduces prime cost of slide shutter plates.
