FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used in continuous steel casting. During casting, magnesian flux containing not less than 30 % MgO is added to intermediate ladle. During addition of magnesian flux in intermediate ladle steel level is reduced by 3–30 % of working value, and in 2–12 minutes after completion of magnesia flux additive level of steel in intermediate ladle is raised to working value. Additive of magnesian flux allows to restore thickness of working layer of lining of intermediate ladle.
EFFECT: higher durability of intermediate ladle and higher efficiency of CCM.
