FIELD: analytical chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry and can be used in determining the content of free abscisic acid in the vegetative organs of plants. To do this, extraction of free abscisic acid from the biological material using diethyl ether, evaporation of the ether extract to dryness and subsequent dissolution of the residue in a 60 % aqueous solution of acetone is carried out. Analysis of free abscisic acid content is performed by capillary electrophoresis in a quartz capillary with an effective length of 0.5 m and an inner diameter of 75 mcm. Analysis is carried out in an aqueous lead electrolyte containing 0.33 % by weight of boric acid, 0.05 % by weight of sodium tetraborate and 0.5 % by volume of isopropanol at a positive voltage polarity. Detection wavelength is 254 nm.
EFFECT: invention ensures a simplification of the procedure for sample preparation in the quantitative determination of free abscisic acid.
