FIELD: crop production.

SUBSTANCE: method involves multiple dilution of a sample of apple juice to a phloridzin content of no more than 200 mg/dm3, or a sample from leaves, which is previously ground in a mortar with a 10% aqueous-alcohol solution in a ratio of 1:10, centrifugation and analysis. In this case, a capillary electrophoresis system is used with a quartz capillary having an effective length of 0.5 m, an internal diameter of 75 mcm and an aqueous leading electrolyte containing 3 g/dm3 imidazole, 3 g/dm3 sodium tetraborate decahydrate, 0.2 g/dm3 sodium sulphate, with positive voltage polarity and detection wavelength – 254 nm.

EFFECT: rapid and reliable quantitative determination of phloridzin by capillary electrophoresis using non-toxic and accessible chemicals for analysis in the absence of additional purification of extracts or apple juice before analysis.
