FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, specifically to ophthalmology. For the treatment of macular drusen with age-related macular degeneration, a subthreshold microimpulse laser exposure with a wavelength of 577 nm on the macular drusen area is performed. In this case, the applicates are applied with a dense layer with a distance between them equal to one diameter of the applicate in the horizontal or vertical direction under the following laser exposure parameters: power 100–270 mW, exposure 20 ns, the period between pulse bursts 0.1–0.15 s, duty ratio 10 %, spot diameter 100 micrometer, the number of applicates is 300–650 pieces.
EFFECT: method allows to exclude complications of the macular drusen treatment, as well as to enhance visual acuity and stabilize visual functions, due to individual adjustment of laser radiation parameters, under which the maximum absorption of laser radiation by the cells of the pigment epithelium takes place, and photoreceptors are kept intact.
