FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the separation of gas mixtures and can be used in the gas, oil and chemical industries. Three-stage treatment of helium-containing natural gas is carried out. Penetrating gas (5) after first gas separation membrane (3) is compressed in compressor (13) and directed to second gas separation membrane (17). Penetrating gas (19) from second gas separation membrane (17) is extracted as helium-containing gas. Non-penetrating gas (21) from second gas separation membrane (17) is directed to third gas separation membrane (23). Non-penetrating gases (7 and 25) from first and third gas separation membranes (3 and 23) are combined to produce commercial natural gas (27). Penetrating gas (9) from third gas separation membrane (23) is combined with penetrating gas (5) from first gas separation membrane (3).
EFFECT: high level of helium recovery with a concentration of 99 mol% is provided, as well as a minimum heat capacity of purified natural gas using only one compressor.
