FIELD: gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and apparatus for separating gas mixtures by means of gas separation membranes. The method and the device consist of a stage (1) for separating the initial stream and a stage (2) for separating the retentate both of which are membrane separation stages, and the first stream (7) of the retentate is heated to a temperature before being introduced into the stage (2) for separating the retentate exceeding the temperature of the initial stream (5). The total productivity of the membranes used at the stage (2) of retentate separation is higher than the total productivity of the membranes used at the stage (1) of initial stream separation.
EFFECT: invention ensures high purity of at least 95% of volume, preferably purity of at least 97% of volume for both gaseous permeates and gaseous retentates.
