FIELD: ship building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for controlling the stability of a ship under extreme wave conditions. To control the stability of a ship, the rolling period is measured, the metacentric height is calculated in a certain way, the characteristics of the impact of the breaking waves are calculated on the basis of an analysis of the frequency spectrum of the wave, wind speed and current, the actual parameters of the dynamics of the interaction of the ship with the external environment and the possibility of tipping the ship at the time of the impact of the extreme wave and the development of a rapid drift from its impact are determined.
EFFECT: controlling ship stability.
