SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to virology and medicine. Proposed strain of the influenza virus A/goose/Kalmykia/813/16 H5N8, type A, subtype H5, the family Orthomyxoviridae, the genus Influenzavirus, obtained during sequential passage in 10-day embryos of SPF-chickens and deposited in a collection of strains of microorganisms FSBI "Federal Center for Animal Health" under the registration number strain A/goose/Kalmykia/813/16 H5N8 (diagnostic). Proposed strain has a high biological activity in its native form and retains a high antigenic and immunogenic activity after inactivation.
EFFECT: strain A/goose/Kalmykia/813/16 H5N8 can be used to control the antigenic and immunogenic activity of avian influenza vaccines and for the manufacture of biologics for the diagnosis and specific prevention of avian influenza A of the subtype H5.
