SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology. Disclosed is a strain of avian influenza virus A/chicken/Kostroma/3175/17 H5N2 subtype H5N2 Influenza A virus, genus Alphainfluenzavirus, family Orthomyxoviridae, obtained during sequential passaging in 10-day SPF-embryos of chickens and deposited in a collection of strains of microorganisms FGBU "VNIIZZH" under the name "A/chicken/Kostroma/3175/17 H5N2 (diagnostic - D) avian influenza virus strain". Avian influenza virus strain has high biological activity in native form and preserves antigenic and hemagglutinating activity after inactivation.
EFFECT: strain A/chicken/Kostroma/3175/17 H5N2 strain can be used for control of antigenic and immunogenic activity of avian influenza vaccines, as well as for production of antigen-containing diagnostics used in virological, molecular-genetic and serological studies.
