SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and can be used to measure the critical speeds of the rotors of machines operating in the resonant regions of the rotational speeds. In the method for measuring the critical velocities of the rotor, a rotating pendulum mounted on the shaft of the machine is used as an indicator of the emerging processes. Movement of the pendulum is carried out on the rolling bearing, which provides sufficient opportunities for free movement. Estimation of the critical rotational speed parameters of the rotor shaft of the machine is realized by observing the so-called "gripping" mode, when the angular velocity of the pendulum rotation coincides with the angular velocity of the rotor rotating with one of the critical velocities. Gripping mode can be fixed by simple measuring means, for example an optical tachometer, followed by processing of information on a computer.

EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the economics of the measurement method and its simplification.
