SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for the preparation of conjugated diene copolymers. Process for the preparation of conjugated diene polymers involves the polymerisation of at least one conjugated diene in the presence of a catalytic system, comprising at least one oxo-nitrogenated complex of cobalt having the general formula (I):

wherein: R₁ and R₂ are the same or different from each other and are selected from straight or branched C₁C₂₀ alkyl groups; Y represents an oxygen atom or -NR₃, in which R₃ represents a substituted aryl group; X₁ and X₂ are the same and represent a halogen atom.

EFFECT: technical result is the preparation of copolymers of conjugated dienes with a high content of 1,4-cis-units.
