FIELD: hydroacoustics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the tasks of classifying targets in the development of hydroacoustic systems. Essence: the proposed method uses sliding memory when the operator points the automatic tracking channel on the indicator to the local maxima of the intended object, with low signal-to-noise ratios. A decision on the class of a marine object is made using an array selected from memory, which is processed simultaneously with the detection of a marine object with a given probability.
EFFECT: ensuring a reduction in the time for determining classification characteristics in the HW, which helps reduce the time between the moment of detecting a target with a given probability and determining the target class.
