FIELD: protective devices.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for determining the protective properties of individual armor protection means, mainly helmets for the head. Way in which a body with normalized energy is struck on an unprotected model of an object filled with a liquid, and a body hit with a certain energy on a protected with personal protector model of an object. Pressure in the liquid is measured by the impact. Obtained results are compared. At the same time, an unprotected model of the object is hit with a bullet of a cartridge of traumatic weapons with known statistics of the likelihood of injury with the established severity of injury to the victim’s health. On the protected object – a bullet of a cartridge of a standard sample of small arms or an imitator of a scab. Normalized for the established degree of severity relationship of the average values maximum of the intracavitary pressure criterion is calculated and built for the given intervals of the evaluation time and the dependence of the maximum of the average values of the intracavitary pressure criterion for the given intervals of the evaluation time, provided that the individual armor protection device is not tampered with a bullet of a regular cartridge of a small arms or a fragment simulator, which is used for comparison.
EFFECT: increased reliability and compatibility of the tests results of armored vehicles on the head simulator with the justification of the expected probability of the severity of a traumatic injury.
