FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to magnetic substance detection device contained in moving verification object. Magnetic substance detection device is provided with long magnets and ferromagnetic thin film magnetoresistance elements. Magnets are provided to extend parallel to each other in a Y-axis direction, and are magnetized in opposite directions to each other in a Z-axis direction. Ferromagnetic thin film magnetoresistance elements are each formed to have a linear portion provided to extend approximately along the Y-axis direction on a plane of a substrate, disposed in a magnetic force line path between the magnets, and change a resistance value in response to the change of a magnetic field in a direction, orthogonal to the Y-axis direction within the plane of the substrate. Magnets apply the bias magnetic field having a strength lower than the saturation magnetic field of the ferromagnetic thin film magnetoresistance elements, to ferromagnetic thin-film magnetoresistance elements in the direction orthogonal to the Y-axis within the plane of the substrate.
EFFECT: technical result is to increase accuracy of detection of magnetic substance.
