ALLOY CONTAINING POLYOLEFIN AND THERMOPLASTIC POLYURETHANE Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC C08G18/10 C08L75/04 C08L75/06 C08L75/08 C08L23/26 C08L23/06

Abstract RU 2650106 C2

FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to alloy of thermoplastic polyurethane and polyolefin used in a medical device. Ratio of refractive indices between polyurethane and polyolefin is from 0.9 to 1.1. Turbidity value for both polyurethane and polyolefin is below 30. Polyolefin is a copolymer of polyethylene and acrylic acid, comprising from 4 to 11 % by weight of acrylic acid. Obtained alloy based on polyolefin and polyurethane has unexpected mechanical properties and at the same time has light transmission characteristics and/or external characteristics. Present invention provides an alloy with exceptional mechanical properties. Phases are not divided into macrophases. Thus, this stable and potentially wide interface is very effective in the transfer of stress, when the alloy is deformed. As might be expected, the hardness values for the alloys are within the values of the hardness of each component, but other physical properties are not regulated in this way. Therefore, taking into account hardness and values of mechanical characteristics, such alloys behave like two compatible polymers.

EFFECT: this stable and potentially wide phase-separation surface is very effective in the transfer of stress, when the alloy is deformed.
