SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the chemical and nuclear industries and can be used in the production of uranium hexafluoride in uranium enrichment technology. Method for fractional distillation of a gas mixture consisting of uranium hexafluoride, hydrogen fluoride and impurities includes low-temperature desublimation of the gas mixture, cooling of the gas mixture in the sedimentation tank with cold air to a temperature in the range of 90–137.2 K, the joint condensation of uranium hexafluoride and hydrogen fluoride by lowering the temperature as the solid condensate layer grows, removal of air from the sedimentation tank and non-condensable impurities, heating of the sedimentation tank to a temperature of 193 K, removal of hydrogen fluoride gas from the settling vessel, sublimation of uranium hexafluoride by raising the temperature of the precipitation tank and returning uranium hexafluoride to production.
EFFECT: invention provides a reduction in specific energy costs and a reduction in the cost of gas distillation.
