SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication systems and can be used as a phase-error compensation device of a carrier recovery device for a demodulator used in quadrature amplitude modulation communication systems. Phase error compensation device includes first and second filters that generate phase difference values and a phase error estimate value in the forward and reverse sequences of the received symbols, respectively, a phase error addition means that generates a phase error estimate value based on the phase error estimate values and one of the phase difference values and a phase error compensation means in the received symbols based on the phase error estimate obtained in the addition means.

EFFECT: increasing the throughput and improving the quality of data transmission by reducing the frequency of erroneous bits in an unfavorable noise environment, mainly due to phase noise or thermal noise.
