SUBSTANCE: usage to perform ultrasonic flaw detection on the welded pipe. Summary of the invention is that ultrasonic flaw detection system comprises: an ultrasonic flaw detector sensor head installed further downstream of a weld detection module; weld position calculation module that calculates a weld position and a cut-off position of the weld metal of a pipe welded by electric resistance welding using a thermal image of a weld portion taken by a weld detection module; a module for detecting a weld metal cut strip that is installed immediately before or immediately after the sensor head of the ultrasonic inspection and which detects the cut strip of the weld metal of the pipe welded by electric resistance welding; weld metal cut position calculation module that calculates the cut position of the weld metal of the pipe welded by electric resistance welding based on the weld metal cut strip detected by the weld metal cut detection section; and a tracking movement amount calculating module that calculates the tracking movement amount of the sensor head of the ultrasonic inspection, using the indicated weld position and the weld metal cut position calculated by the weld position calculation module, and the cut position of the weld metal calculated by the module for calculating the cut position of the weld metal.
EFFECT: providing the ability to detect accurately the position of the weld and the direction of the crack in the weld section.
