FIELD: wireless communication equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mobile communication. Communication system is described, in which a communication node allocates resources for potential use by any one of a plurality of user communication devices, including user communication devices of a first type (for example, legacy devices) and communication devices of a second type (for example, machine type). Control data are sent to the user communication devices, said data determining communication resources for potential use by any of the user communication devices. Control data include information identifying a first PRACH resource configuration for the first type communication device and a second PRACH resource configuration for the second type device, so that the user devices can be differentiated by the used PRACH configuration.
EFFECT: technical result is improved coverage for MTS devices with "reduced bandwidth".
