FIELD: image forming devices.
SUBSTANCE: method of determining the spatial coordinates of point sources from two-dimensional images consists in recording images from different angles of the controlled area of the space in which the sources are located, partition of this area into elements of resolution (ER), numbering them and fixing spatial coordinates, determining by calculation the positions of ER on the images planes. Also, on each image plane, surface elements (EPs) are projected onto which ERs are projected; a weight vector is formed for each EP. Further, a weight matrix is formed from these vectors. Vector of the intensity distribution over the ER is estimated and the components of the obtained estimate that exceed the background intensity level are extracted. Next, the spatial coordinates of the sources are determined as ER coordinates whose numbers coincide with the numbers of the selected components, and the source intensities are determined from the values of these components.
EFFECT: technical result consists in expanding the scope of the method to determine the spatial coordinates of point sources in free space, reducing measurement equipment and energy consumption, providing a passive operation mode, and increasing the information content by obtaining additional information on the sources intensity.
