SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the methods for studying the materials, namely, to the study of the paper porosity. Method is proposed for determining the paper porosity, it comprises application of one or more drops of the coal tar resin onto the tested sheet of paper, comparison of the diameter of the manifested central solid spot of the coal tar resin with the reference value of the diameter of the central spot, which corresponds to the specific pore size of the paper. In this case, the reference value of the diameter of the central spot, which corresponds to the specific pore size of the paper, is predetermined according to the directly proportional dependence of the diameters of the central spots of the coal tar resin spots on the dimensions of the pores of the reference sheets of paper.

EFFECT: simplified method of determination of the paper porosity.
