FIELD: packaging materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a radiation-curable coating composition for packaging materials, comprising a methacrylate-functional compound, which is a methacrylate-functional polyether urethane, an adhesion-accelerating methacrylate compound, which is a mixture of a phosphate of a methacrylate-functional monomer or oligomer and a carboxylate of a methacrylate-functional monomer or oligomer. Phosphate of the methacrylate-functional compound is present in an amount of up to 12 wt% of the coating composition, and the carboxylate of the methacrylate-functional compound is present in an amount of 0.5 to 50 wt% of the coating composition. Package comprising a metal substrate and a coating composition and a method for coating a package are also described.
EFFECT: technical result is providing hard, flexible coatings with good adhesion to metal substrates that withstand retort conditions with minimal staining and minimal loss of adhesion.
