FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to surgery, and can be used for topical treatment of purulent wounds by a local flow of an ozone-oxygen gas mixture in type II diabetes mellitus. To do this, the body portion with a wound defect is treated with an ozone-oxygen gas mixture. Wherein, the supply of gaseous ozone at a concentration of 40 mg/l, with a gas flow rate of 2 liters/minute, is carried out with the aid of a device for local treatment of biological tissues by an ozone-oxygen mixture. Tip of the device is kept at a distance of 0.5–0.8 cm from the wound with an exposure of 3 minutes/3 cm2 wounds.
EFFECT: invention allows to accelerate processes of purification and healing of purulent wounds and shorten the period of treatment of patients.
