FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biochemistry, in particular to a nucleic acid encoding a fusion protein from many subunits of glycolate dehydrogenase as well as to a transgenic plant cell, a transgenic plant and a transgenic seed containing the abovesaid nucleic acid. Also method for increasing biomass production and fixing carbon in plants as compared to a wild plant species is disclosed, comprising introducing into the genome of a cell a nucleic acid plant encoding a fusion protein from many subunits of glycolate dehydrogenase.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to efficiently obtain a plant with increased biomass production and carbon fixation as compared to wild plant species.
