SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and a shoe for compressing segments of a multi-segment filter. Method of compressing filter segments moving in a chain of segments is proposed, wherein the filter segments are compressed by a shoe (10, 10A, 10', 10"), and between the bottom surface of the shoe (11, 11A, 111, 111A, 211, 211A, 311, 411) and the filter segments (S) located on the wrapper, prior to gluing and covering the chain of segments with the wrapper, compressed air is simultaneously supplied by compressing the filter segments by means of channels (14, 15, 16) formed inside the shoe (10, 10A, 10', 10"). Also shoe is proposed (10, 10A, 10', 10") to compress segments of a continuous multi-segment rod, the lower surface (11, 11A, 111, 111A, 211, 211A, 311, 411) to compress the filter segments (S) located on the wrapper before gluing and covering the chain of segments with a wrapper, (17, 17A, 19) for injecting compressed air supplied through the channels (12, 13, 14), the nozzles (17A) expanding in the direction of the segments (S) of the continuous multi-segment rod.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is a combination of two functions, namely, compression of the segments and simultaneous cooling of the surface remaining in contact with the compressible segments.
