SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a multi-segment component for an aerosol generating product. Multi-segment component (50) for aerosol generating product (2) contains combustible heat source (4), aerosol forming substrate (10) located further along a flow relatively to combustible heat source (4), and wrapper (38) surrounding a rear section of combustible heat source (4) and at least a front section of aerosol forming substrate (10). A front section of combustible heat source (4) passes beyond wrapper (38), so that the specified front section of the combustible heat source is opened during the use. Intumescent coating (42) is provided on the entire front section of combustible heat source (4) or on its part, while intumescent coating (42) is made with the possibility of formation of a heat-insulating layer on the front section of combustible heat source (4) in response to heating performed with combustible heat source (4).

EFFECT: invention allows for reduction in the risk of heat damage to adjacent materials under the action of a combustible heat source.
