FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of the emulsions separation by filtration, in particular to the field of liquids cleaning of oil-petroleum products and organic substances. It can be used in oil-producing, chemical, petrochemical, food, pharmaceutical, machine-building and other industries, as well as in waste water treatment systems. Granules of the emulsions separating filtering material, which equivalent diameter is in the range of 0.1 to 6.0 mm, are formed from grinded diatomite particles and annealed at the temperature of 700–1,000 °C, which ensures the diatomite particles sintering among themselves while maintaining the existing between the particles pores. During the water cleaning of oil, the filtering fill is pre-filled with clean water, which fills the pores of the granules, creating zones that are not wetted to oil (disperse phase) at the pore outlet points on the granule surface. Only after that, commencing the water-oil emulsion filtration through the diatomite granules layer. Since during filtration in the pyramidal-like cavities between the granules the flow rate sharply decreases, then the dispersed phase begins to settle on the granules surface protrusions (first of all, in the lateral cavities), gradually completely filling these cavities. During backwashing, the granules are displaced, the cavities spatial structure is destroyed, and the accumulated in the granules pyramidal-like cavities and on the surface dispersed phase is carried away by the washing liquid.
EFFECT: increase in the granule operational properties (id est its quality) and, respectively, the effectiveness of its use in the emulsions separation process.
