SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for insulating the building surface with insulating panels, each of which has two parallel major surfaces and four side surfaces, connecting two large surfaces. Insulating panels are located side by side on the surface of the building, wherein the underlying surface of each insulation panel faces the surface of the building and each insulation panel is divided into a top and a bottom so that the interface is substantially parallel to the two major surfaces. Method includes stages, on which an insulating panel is placed on the surface of the building, then the upper part of said insulation panel is displaced by a distance, at least partially covering the bottom of at least one adjacent insulation panel. This invention also relates to insulating panels for use in said method.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to eliminate cold bridges and improve the quality of the building's thermal insulation.
