FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at forming of the stepped fuel injection characteristic of the diesel engine fuel storage system without complicating the design of the electrohydraulic injector. Duration of the first preliminary control current pulse determines the amplitude of the stepped fuel injection characteristic first stage leading edge, the intervals between the first and second preliminary control current pulses, as well as the interval between the second preliminary control pulse and the main current control pulse are selected so as to provide step-by-step injection with a predetermined magnitude of the oscillation amplitude of the stepped injection characteristic first stage. At that, the injection characteristic first stage amplitude is 0.2-0.8 of the stepped fuel injection characteristic second stage maximum amplitude, and the stepped injection characteristic first stage amplitude fluctuation is not more than 0.10-0.15 of the stepped fuel injection characteristic second stage maximum amplitude.
EFFECT: proposed is a method for the stepped fuel injection characteristic formation, in which the current control pulses consist of two preliminary and one main, corresponding to the injection characteristic second stage having a maximum amplitude.
