FIELD: metal processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of abrasive processing and can be used in the manufacture of an abrasive wire for cutting hard materials, such as silicon, sapphire or silicon carbide. Abrasive wire consists of a steel core and an outer coating, comprising binder and abrasive particles. Binder is formed from at least one nickel-cobalt alloy layer with cobalt content ranging from 20 to 85% by weight with respect to the weight of the Ni-Co alloy.
EFFECT: high resistance of the abrasive wire to mechanical deformation and wear during cutting with reduced loss of abrasive particles.
