FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: piston assembly of a machine for casting under pressure contains piston (14) and rod (1) with a longitudinal channel and transverse windows, pipeline (4) installed in the longitudinal channel, hollow disc (6) placed without gaps between a rod end and a piston cavity bottom and permanently connected to the rod, and a sealing element placed in an annular groove. The pipeline is fixed in a small disc cavity with its front end. The rod contains hollow shank (2), on which longitudinal grooves (9) are made, separated with their edges from a base and a front end of the hollow shank, coming with their beginnings to transverse windows of the hollow shank and opened to its cavity. A rear part of the shank, free of its grooves, is placed in a large disc cavity. An inner annular groove of the disc is made on the shank in the large disc cavity, wherein ends of longitudinal grooves of the hollow shank and rear transverse windows of the hollow disc come to the inner annular groove of the disc.
EFFECT: increase in the strength and reliability of a piston assembly, reduction in material consumption.
