FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended to improve the basic characteristics of X-ray technological and research equipment and can be used in sterilisation, disinfection, gene modification facilities, fluoroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis of microelectronics, biology, and medicine. The invention is a microfocus X-ray source comprising a cathode-modulator assembly, a focusing system and a through-type anode, which is manufactured in the form of a heat pipe operating in a closed evaporative-condensation cycle.
EFFECT: making it possible to disperse large thermal powers released as a result of bombardment of the target surface by focused high-energy electrons.
