SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to psychiatry, laboratory diagnostics, and can be used for complex examination of patients with the purpose of revealing diseases of schizophrenic spectrum in them. For this, the activity of complement components is determined in serum: C1, C1q, C2, C3, C4, C5, CH50. In case of deviation of C1, C1q, C2 by 9 % relative to the norm and deviation of the levels C3, C4, C5 and CH50 at 13–32 % of the norm determine the presence of a neurotic disease. Increase in activity values of complement components: C1, C1q, C5 and CH50 at 10 % and above the norm indicates the presence of paranoid schizophrenia continuously ongoing. Increase in activity values of complement components: C1, C1q and CH50 more than 10 % of the norm and a C3 decrease of 20 % relative to normal indicates the presence of paranoid schizophrenia with an episodic type of course. Increase in activity values of complement components: C1, C1q, C4, C5 and CH50 10–40 % of the norm indicates the presence of schizotypal disorder. Increase in the activity of complement components: C1, C1q, C4, C5 and CH50 more than 20 % of the norm indicates the presence of schizoaffective disorder.

EFFECT: method allows to determine with high accuracy the presence and type of the disorder of the schizophrenic spectrum already at the early stages of the development of the disease due to the obtaining of a profile of quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the complement components inherent in a particular disease and different from the profile inherent in neurotic disorders.
