FIELD: immunology.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical immunology and can be used to determine the functional activity of the classical complement pathway. That is ensured by ram erythrocyte lysis reaction sensitized with rabbit antibodies (EA) with 1 % human blood serum. Reaction is carried out for 10 minutes at temperature (37.0±0.5) °C. Change in optical density is recorded by turbidimetry at wave length 620 nm. Degree of lysis is determined from a calibration curve. If the degree of lysis is less than 75 %, the functional activity of the classical pathway of the complement system is considered to be low. If the lysis degree is 75 to 85 %, the above functional activity is considered to be normal. If the degree of lysis is more than 86 %, said functional activity is considered to be elevated.
EFFECT: invention provides higher accuracy and faster determination of functional activity of the classic complement pathway in clinical diagnostic laboratories.
